It's a Northwest Division battle between the division's top two teams, as the first-place Oklahoma City Thunder bring the NBA's best record to Portland, where the Trail Blazers are 19-5 this season.

But check out the trends when the Thunder are underdogs, then check out the computer pick before deciding to back the Blazers here.

Point Spread

Portland opened as slim one-point home favorites with a total hovering around 211 during the day Tuesday. (Line updates and matchup report).

Odds Shark Computer Prediction

103-100 Oklahoma City (from Odds Shark preview)

Why the Thunder can cover the spread

Oklahoma City (41-12) still has one more revenge game to get out of its system, as the Blazers won the first two meetings, before Oklahoma City won at home, 105-97, on Jan. 21. Now the Thunder have won 13 of their last 15 games, and have covered 11 of those games.

Why the Trail Blazers can cover the spread

Portland (36-15) has to be motivated after winning two of the first three meetings, both victories coming in December, including a road win at Oklahoma City. The Blazers scored 111 points against the Thunder here, in the season's first meeting, and should be offensively charged after averaging 115 in their last two games.

Smart Pick

While it seemingly makes all the sense in the world to take the Blazers, given they're at home, there aren't too many other teams playing as well as Oklahoma City right now. And not that it would look ahead, but Portland does head to L.A. for a meeting with the Clippers tomorrow.

The Thunder are headed there too, but to play the Lakers on Thursday. Thunder eke this one out, steal a road win, just like the computer and trends say.

  • Oklahoma City is 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games when playing Portland
  • Oklahoma City is 11-4 ATS in its last 15 games
  • The Thunder have won and covered five straight as an underdog
  • The total has gone UNDER in six of the past seven meetings of these teams
