Egyptian Goalkeeper Wears Liverpool Shirt in League Game with Sponsor Pinned on

Ghazl El Mahalla goalkeeper Mahdi Soliman wore a kit during an Egyptian Premier League game against Al Ahly that didn't look quite right—and it turned out that was because he was in fact using the Liverpool goalkeeping jersey.

According to Eurosport:

Local reports claim El-Mahalla’s kit man forgot to bring a goalkeeper’s jersey to the match and had to scarper to a local sports store to locate a suitable replacement.

Mignolet’s rather natty pinstripe effort was purchased at haste and, to keep the team’s sponsors happy, a McDonald’s logo was stuck onto the front.

Liverpool’s team crest, kit manufacturer and part of their Standard Chartered sponsor logo was still visible though.

Soliman's side lost the game 1-0, a result that leaves them at the foot of Group 1 of the Egyptian Premier League after seven games, so it didn't bring them any extra luck.

To make matters worse, the only goal came via a penalty, which appears to have been conceded by Soliman himself.
