Now that the January transfer window has been closed for a few matches, let's take a look at what future deals AC Milan might be planning for the following window.

Milan are coming off a gut-wrenching 3-1 loss to Napoli, further signaling a dire need for change at the back.

Here are some of the latest rumors and what's to come in the future.

According to Football Italia—via L'Equipe—Milan have offered Paris St. Germain central defender Alex a two year deal.

The Brazilian defender would bolster a weak Rossoneri defensive unit, and it's apparent that this will be a huge focal point in Clarence Seedorf's plans to reinforce the squad and make them competitive again.

According to reports from Football Italia via Italian Press, Arsenal are preparing a 30m bid for striker Mario Balotelli, who has had an inconsistent season with Milan.

There's little doubt that someone with Balotelli's skill could offer a more multidimensional force up front compared to Olivier Giroud.

This is a story to watch out for, as Balotelli has been linked to England several times in the past season.

Stephan El Shaarawy wants to stay at Milan despite reports for Il Corriere and Football Italia that a Russian club has shown interest in the young striker.

Il Faraone had a nightmarish 2013 and the new year hasn't been any kinder to him, as he's undergone foot surgery and will be out for at least another two months.

Alex to Sign?

According to Sport Mediaset (via Football Italia), Alex was close to signing with Milan over the weekend.

    Reports have since died down.

The move wouldn't be totally out of the picture, as the Rossoneri defense is currently leaving gaps wider than the Panama Canal.

However, it would be interesting to see if a center-back pairing of Adil Rami and Alex would work. The PSG defender has a thundering long-range shot and is a hulking presence at the back.

It will be interesting to see if this move pans out during the summer months.
