The Mercedes F1 team have shot a short trailer ahead of the 2014 season, in which drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg struggle to grasp the new rules for the year.

Rule changes affect engine sizes, points scoring and much more besides: CNN offer a good summary of the technical changes.

Certainly, it's better than what Hamilton and Rosberg offer—the pair play dumb as the rules are explained by the man on voiceover duties.

"My engine's 1.6 [litre]?" asks a bemused Hamilton.

"My first car had more than that," Rosberg adds.

It all leads to the pay-off, when the German concludes, "The only thing that's missing is that you now tell me you're doing double points for the last race, or something. That would be rubbish, wouldn't it?"

It's funny because it's true.
