It might be a quiet day at the Winter Olympics in Sochi ahead of the opening ceremony for the 2014 Games, but India's Shiva Keshavan was involved in an extraordinary incident during a training run ahead of the luge events.

The slider fell off his sled at a speed estimated by the BBC's Ollie Williams in excess of 70 mph—but somehow managed to get back on again without seemingly suffering any injuries.

Keshavan was later filmed arriving safely back at the end of the run. Not all sliders are so lucky.
