And he need look no further than the trio that attacked him recently on Raw, the mysterious and brutal Wyatt Family.
Led by the charismatic (and terrifying) Bray Wyatt, the team are currently one of the most intimidating and unpredictable acts that professional wrestling currently has.
As with any Cena-driven storyline, it stands to reason that he will eventually emerge standing tall. But there is something about this trio that might make many fans wonder whether or not Cena’s run as the their resident hero might soon be cut short by this new group of monsters.
But there are, of course, a variety of roads that this prospective rivalry could end up heading down.
You’d have to be crazy to think that going toe to toe with the three behemoths in the Family would be a positive life choice.
Many have tried, and everyone, including the electric Daniel Bryan, have failed.
Cena may find that the men willing to stand by his side in this feud will be few and far between.
In fact, he may be standing alone through the entire saga. And while Cena is a special kind of superstar, one capable of repelling almost any threat, he may find himself way over his head when it comes to his quest to destroy the Wyatt Family.
When you think of people that have an issue with Bray Wyatt and his flock, you would be hard pressed to find anyone with a bigger issue than Daniel Bryan.
As arguably the most popular superstar on the WWE roster at the moment, Bryan has had ups and downs with the mysterious trio, even integrating into their ranks briefly.
However, he failed to defeat Bray Wyatt one-on-one at the Royal Rumble.
By pairing Cena and Bryan, and uniting the current saviors of the company in their fight against evil, the solution to the equation that is the Wyatt Family might finally be presented.
There are, of course, other faces that we could see stepping up to unite with Cena. Off hand, names like Sheamus, Christian or Mark Henry come to mind. All are currently without a storyline enemy, and all are also big names that could lend more credibility to this impending war.
As a singular entity, Bray Wyatt is one of the most intriguing superstars in the company right now.
And with the kind of hype that Wyatt is building, it stands to reason that a potential one-on-one showdown with Cena would set the wrestling world on fire. Cena has a quality that few possess, and that is his ability to be a star-maker.
A win, or even a respectable showing against Cena would elevate Wyatt to long-term main event status. He has the look, charisma and it-factor that few do, and he can be the monster heel that the company has been lacking for some time.
When you add Rowan and Harper into the equation, the trio are a size and strength mismatch for nearly every conceivable trio that they could be put against.
Their current storyline, in which they are feuding with the Shield, will elevate both teams and make them even more intriguing than they already are.
But in the end, it is their performances with Cena that will make or break the Wyatt Family.
They have nearly every intangible that monsters of the squared circle should have.
They are intimidating in both size and demeanor. In addition, they have no qualms with completely breaking the rules at any time.
And worst of all, they are completely uncaring when it comes to abiding by any semblance of rules.
Though it seems as if the trio might be in over their heads in terms of their star power versus Cena’s, it may not be long until we are all talking about the Wyatt Family as the top baddies in professional wrestling.
It stands to reason that WWE will want to do something big with Cena at WrestleMania XXX, as they tend to do every year at the annual event.
With his feud with Wyatt heating up going into that event, it is incredibly likely that the two will end up going toe to toe on the grandest of stages.
And this could be a coming out party of sorts for Wyatt.
Sure, we have all seen what he can do on the small screen, with his cryptic messages and brutal beatdowns of countless unsuspecting superstars.
But with the exception of his match with Bryan at the Royal Rumble, Wyatt has yet to shine in a heavily-hyped event, especially one with the magnetic draw of a WrestleMania event.
The WWE Universe should expect that to change very soon.
