This Week - Game 5 - No. 3 Colorado vs. Missouri
The Buffs were able to demonstrate that they could handle the loss of their honorary captain, and that they could handle a road trip against a top 25 opponent.
After two emotional weeks, the Buffs came home to face the Missouri Tigers in the Big Eight opener.
The Buffs looked to extend a four-game winning streak over Missouri, the best in school history ...
Next Week - Game 6 - No. 3 Colorado at Iowa State
The Cyclones kept it close for just over a quarter, forging a 10-10 tie with a 50-yard field goal on the first play of the second quarter. Then...a twister hit the home team, as the Buffs started setting records left and right.
Most points in a quarter; most points in a half; highest average yards/play. Read all about the track meet as the Buffs hit the midway point with a 6-0 record ...
Okay, that’s probably enough for this week
. I did receive several nominations for "Favorite Game of the Decade". Nominations include, as you might expect, the 62-36 game in 2001 and the Big 12 championship victory over Texas the following week.
Also mentioned: CU over Oklahoma, 2007; CU over Kansas State, 2002; and CU over Colorado State - close wins in 2003; 2004; 2005; and 2007.
Any others? I’ll keep the nominations open another week, so we can spend some more time with these games next weekend (assuming there isn’t another flurry of activity in Boulder this week!).
Enjoy this week’s update on the website! Keep in touch!
Go Buffs!
