The transfer deadline day is upon us, and Tottenham's Etienne Capoue is a player in the news.
The jockeying for position is taking shape, with Napoli one of the teams in the frame for his signature.

—LATEST UPDATE: Friday, January 31—
Etienne Capoue has opened the door for a move away from Tottenham after criticising head coach Tim Sherwood, reports Chris Davie of Goal.com.
The 25-year-old is unhappy that the Spurs boss is choosing to play him in a more defensive role, and fears for his World Cup place with France.
The article also credits Napoli with an interest in Capoue.
Napoli have had an £8.25 million bid for Etienne Capoue batted back by Spurs, per a report from the Guardian’s David Hytner.
Hytner claims Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is determined to add some bite to his midfield, and Capoue is the player in his sights.
Although out of favour at Spurs, it would appear that Benitez will have to up his offer if he is to sign the player who joined Tottenham from Toulouse last summer.
