Alexis Sanchez scored a quick brace to start the second-half, and Cesc Fabregas also found the back of the net after the restart as Barcelona defeated Levante 5-1 on Camp Nou to progress to the semifinal round of the Copa del Rey on 9-2 aggregate.

The Valencia side had taken the lead in the Catalan capital through a Sergi Roberto own-goal after just nine minutes, but Adriano restored level terms just before the half-hour mark and Carlos Puyol headed home the eventual winner in the 44th minute following Cristian Tello’s excellent corner.

Half-Time analysis

Pinto: Had no chance whatsoever on the Sergi Roberto deflection form Vyntra’s header.

Montoya: Combining well with Alexis down the right-hand side.

Puyol: Capped a solid first half with a goal from a corner.

Bartra: Completed an impressive 96% of his passes.

Adriano: Scored a spectacular goal with his left foot from distance.

Sergi Roberto: Scored an own-goal and was booked in a seven minute spell.

Song: Has made three tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Iniesta: The maestro has already touched the ball 79 times.

Alexis: Wasted at least one chance to score.

Cesc: Not looking comfortable in the “false 9” role.

Tello: Excellent delivery on the corner for Puyol’s headed goal.

Full-Time analysis

Pinto: Didn’t have to make a single save over the entire 90 minutes.

Montoya: Involved himself well going forward and played a part in the first Alexis goal.

Puyol: Will be happy to get another 90 minutes under his belt.

Bartra: Another solid outing for the ever-improving centre-back.

Adriano: The rebound from his shot just after the restart allowed Alexis to open his account.

Sergi Roberto: Settled nicely after an own-goal and booking early in the opening period.

Song: Completed 95% of his passes.

Iniesta: Was withdrawn at the break.

Alexis: In good position for a pair of tap-ins to close out the tie as a contest.

Cesc: Now the Copa del Rey’s co-leading goalscorer alongside Lionel Messi.

Tello: Picked up an assist and took four shots at target.

Pedro: Helped set up the Cesc goal with a nice pass to Alexis.

Afellay: Quite nearly scored shortly after his introduction.

Mascherano: Was introduced in the final minutes in place of Alexis.
