Harken back to January 20, 2013.

Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens had just defeated the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game and were on course to clash with the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.

The home loss to the Ravens didn't pass without grumbling from Boston fans, the most notable of which being Anna Burns Welker, wife of then-Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker.

Following the Patriots’ loss to the Ravens at Gillette Stadium, Burns went off on a Facebook rant lambasting Lewis for his past, including remarks about the linebacker’s family and murder acquittal.

Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!

Yep, Mrs. Welker was salty, and the rant seemed to receive nearly as much coverage as the explosion Gisele Bundchen (wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady) had after Super Bowl XLVI in 2012:

The mainstream media knew Gisele, but who was this Mrs. Welker? As it turned out, Anna Burns was a model and “Miss Hooters International,” marrying Wes Welker in 2012.

Warning: Video contains some NSFW material:

Welker and Burns were married in Aspen in the summer of 2012. How they met isn’t exactly clear, but judging by her prior modeling work it’s probably safe to say she wasn’t exactly hiding under a rock.

In regards to her controversial words on social media, Burns eventually apologized for her rant concerning Lewis. She explained that the heat of the moment caused her to act irrationally and that she was “deeply sorry” for her Facebook post.

This begs the question: Will Mrs. Welker blow a gasket again this year?

Probably not. It’s likely she’s learned her lesson when it comes to calling out her husband’s opponents by name. Granted, all those lessons could easily fly out the window when she sees the Seattle Seahawks secondary putting their hands all over her husband (this will happen).

So be on the lookout for big hits and/or targeting on Wes Welker. It could very well jar loose another vintage Anna Burns Welker moment.

You mess with Wes, you go in the grinder.
