With the 2014 NBA All-Star Game only a few weeks away, Nike has decided to unveil its set of sneakers that honors the host city, New Orleans.
Here's what Nike's official press release had to say about the collection:
A “gumbo” in the cultural sense, New Orleans is an eclectic mix of characters, music, cuisine and art.
You can’t rush gumbo… It requires an instinctive balance of heat, spice and creativity. Inspired by the flavors and stories of the Big Easy, Nike cooked up a bold mix of technical innovation, aesthetic flair and old-fashioned New Orleans traditions for some of the world’s best basketball players: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant.
Each pair of shoes features glow-in-the-dark material.
James' shoes were inspired by the alligator, aka "the king of the bayou." The shoes feature colors that are a part of New Orleans.
Take a look at the LeBron 11 Gator King:
Bryant's sneakers were designed to honor the city's jazz musicians, which pay tribute to Bryant's ability to improvise.
Here's a peek at the Kobe 9 Elite Maestro:
Durant's shoes "celebrate the magic of his versatility." The hand-drawn patterns on the shoes are meant to represent his fluidity. Durant is one of the most unique players in the game and the sneakers reflect that.

The shoes are set to hit stores on Feb. 14.
