Tottenham are out of the FA Cup after a third-round defeat at neighbours Arsenal, so the players had the weekend off ahead of midweek league games.

Time to catch up on some reading, maybe file that tax return?

Alternatively, if you're Vlad Chiriches, it was the perfect time to head home to Romania and get really, really drunk.

Footage has emerged in his homeland of the defender unable to stand, even with the help of a female companion.

You can watch a snippet of the footage here.

According to 101 Great Goals, it's not just Spurs boss Tim Sherwood who is likely to be unimpressed, with the Romanian reporting less than kind:

The Romanian site that report it, Cancan.Ro, take a cheap shot at the English stating that ‘Chiriches plays like a Romanian but drinks like an Englishman’.

Time will tell how soon Chiriches is back in action for Spurs, but the 24-year-old's on-field displays have been encouraging so far this season.
