WWE Ringside Managers: A Dying Art

Since the start of wrestling managers have played a huge part. They often add a new dimension to the match and add a degree of unpredictability. Heel managers will almost always be involved in matches, trying to give their wrestlers the edge.

In the WWE managers used to be a trend for pretty much every wrestlers to have a manager to accompany them to the ring. Now it's hard to think of even a handful.

Here are the wrestlers in WWE with managers:

  • Mark Henry—Tony Atlas (they're arguing now so they may not last)
  • Beth Pheonix—Rosa Mendes  (as far as managers come she's pretty lame)
  • Michelle McCool—Alicia Fox
  • The Great Khali—Mr. Sideburns
  • Hart Dynasty—Natalya
  • Paul Burchill—Katie Lea Burchill

That's a grand total of six.

Even then, three of them are on the weakest show, ECW. Not only this, but of the six, Atlas and Natalya are the only ones who really get involved. Rosa and Alicia may occasionally, but it rarely affects the outcome.

A manager brings much more possibility to the match and, in my opinion, more excitement.
