Kimbo Turns from MMA to Boxer

After turning out to be a miserable mixed martial artist, Kimbo Slice (Kevin Ferguson) is turning to boxing.

With a promoter who has his roots in boxing, it makes sense that Kimbo Slice bows out of the MMA and starts a boxing career. Gary Shaw, the promoter who introduced Kimbo to EliteXC, will bring the brute to heavyweight boxing sometime this summer. The details have yet to be announced.

This is a good move for both Kimbo and promoter Shaw.  It gives Kimbo Slice a fresh start after his embarrassment in MMA and gives Gary Shaw an opportunity to cash in on Kimbo a couple more times.

After the knockout by Seth Petruzelli, Kimbo Slice needs a venue where he can start over.  Maybe as a boxer, Kimbo Slice can avoid being knocked out in 14 seconds by an opponent who weighs almost 30 pounds less than him!
