Alex Rodriguez is facing his first summer off in a long time while he serves an MLB suspension. But not to worrythere is a job offer out there for the slugger.

The Torrington Titans of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League have offered the former MVP a position as assistant coach, according to The Register Citizen. Get this: The pay will be $5,000 for the entire summer. Don't forget, Rodriguez currently would make over $20 million annually from his contract with the Yankees.

But there's more! Not only will A-Rod get a paycheck, but a local donut shop called The Donut Station will be offering the former All-Star free donuts and coffee for the entire summer.

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig. Maybe Scott Boras can negotiate a weekly ice cream ration that would seal the deal for the suddenly available third baseman.

Thanks to Eye on Baseball for the find and Ted Berg of For the Win for bringing this to our attention.
