David Moyes hasn't had much to cheer since he took the Manchester United job, but he must have thought his side would have enough to beat Sunderland over two legs and reach the League Cup final.

Even after a 2-1 defeat on the road, the Scot must still have believed his side would come through to triumph.

This is the moment when he realised that was not the case.

Sir Alex Ferguson took a few years before his Manchester United side really started to jell. Fortunately for Fergie, Vines didn't exist in the 1980s to capture those moments of anguish.
