Jimmy Calderwood is in talks with Celtic chief Dermot Desmond about the vacant managers position at Celtic.

The former Aberdeen boss, 54, became the surprise top candidate for Celtic, after unsuccessful attempts at luring Owen Coyle and Roberto Martinez to the club.

It's understood Calderwood would bring his long standing number two, Jimmy Nicholl, to the Glasgow giants as his assistant manager.

There will be more to follow on this story as the situation progresses.
