Daily Haze: TGIF

Big night tonight.
About once a month, a bunch of guys from work get together to play video games and drink. It has turned into an all-out tournament filled with friendly wagers, trash talk, and two pretty significant titles. The two featured games: Tecmo Super Bowl for the original Nintendo and FIFA 09 for PlayStation 3.
So far, there have been two FIFA tournaments dominated by one guy. He owns the game and was a soccer player in college, plus he is a pretty big soccer nut (his name is Vince, by the way, of the Vinny’s Old School Songs of the Day on The Hazean’s Facebook page).
I have done well in the FIFA tournament (made the Finals both tournaments), but I live and breathe for the Tecmo tournament.
So far I have won four of the six Tecmo tournaments. The crowns came courtesy of the Houston Oilers (twice), Cincinnati Bengals, and Indianapolis Colts. Tonight I go for title No. 5 and three-in-a-row. Wish me luck and enjoy your weekend.
Here are today’s great reads:
- What should fantasy owners expect out of Tom Brady this year? Confidence in his ability to return strongly from a lost season remains fairly high. [Bruno Boys]
- He may have the most potential of any of the 49ers’ receivers, but Michael Crabtree may not be an inspiring fantasy prospect. [Ultimate Fantasy Football Strategy]
- Donte Stallworth might be getting off the hook in his legal case but the Browns may not want him around this season. [ProFootballTalk]
- Tony Dungy is eager to help out Michael Vick but does not appear to be a big fan on new Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler. [The Big Lead]
