Barcelona were unable to go three points clear at the top of La Liga as they were held to a draw at Levante.

The scoreline ended Levante 1-1 Barcelona, with Gerard Pique heading an equaliser after Loukas Vyntra had headed the opener for the home side.

Barcelona Player Ratings

Quick first half analysis

Valdes: Statuesque for the goal, untroubled otherwise.

Montoya: Has gotten forward well though no real danger created as a result. Linking well with wide forwards.

Mascherano: Calm on the ball and has covered behind the rest of the defence several times.

Pique: Lost his man for the goal, made up for it with the equaliser.

Alba: Reckless tackle early on could easily have been one card or another. Not involved going forward too often.

Busquets: Controlling the recycling of possession well.

Xavi: Completely on his game, almost perfect in everything he has done so far.

Cesc: Hasn't managed to be a creative influence in playing in midfield so far.

Alexis: Good off the ball movement at times but struggling to get behind a packed defence.

Pedro: The better of the two wide forwards so far, just hasn't found the right end pass.

Messi: Being kept quiet and not many shooting opportunities.

Second half quick analysis

Valdes: Made two routine if flashy saves after the break but generally didn't have much to do.

Montoya: The best outlet for a while that the team had to stretch Levante. As with all four wide men, poor delivery let him down.

Pique: Stronger defensively after the break, had two late chances to score.

Mascherano: Solid and dependable. Rarely beaten.

Busquets: Passing in final third was over ambitious, won everything back against the counter attack though.

Xavi: Not as dominant in the second half, subbed.

Cesc: Had played fairly well but unhappy to be subbed.

Alexis: Poor end product all game.

Pedro: Overran the ball at critical moments, not enough link play.

Messi: Livened up late on with a few dribbles but Levante defended well against him.
