Despite being down by as much as 19 in the first half, the Los Angeles Lakers (16-25) defeated the Toronto Raptors (20-19) by a final score of 112-106 in an NBA matinee on Sunday.

The Lakers second-half surge was led by Nick Young, who scored a game-high 29 points on 7-of-13 shooting.

In his first career start in the NBA, Ryan Kelly was also big for the Lakers late as he scored 14 of his 17 points after the half.

As for the Raptors, they started the game red hot, but were unable to sustain offensively for the whole game. Lack of defense allowed L.A. to stay in the game and have a chance down the stretch.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan combined for 44 points and 16 assists in the loss.
