The New England Patriots are heading to Denver to take on the Broncos. With recreational use of marijuana legal in the state of Colorado, head coach Bill Belichick has warned his players about the issue.

According to Doug Kyed from NESN.com, running back LeGarrette Blount confirmed that Belichick talked to the team about smoking marijuana while in Denver.

"It’s a business trip," Blount said. "Nobody is going to care about that. Bill told us about it. He basically told us, ‘Don’t go out there and be stupid.’ [That’s] really good advice."

While using marijuana for recreational purposes is now legal in Colorado, it is still a banned substance in the NFL and is not legal across the United States.

With a big game like this that could send the Patriots to the Super Bowl, Belichick was probably smart to make sure his players knew that they need to stay away from marijuana while they are in Denver.
