Shaun White's massive double-cork 1440 did the trick.

The two-time Olympic Gold medalist set the tone Friday with a 98.60 and leads a competitive field looking for a trip to the 2014 Games--White's a virtual lock to ride the half-pipe in Sochi.

Scotty Lagos finished second and Taylor Gold, who had a run of 94 earlier in the day, finished in third.

Danny Davis needs a big Sunday if he wants to go to Sochi.

Kelly Clark paced the women with 2,000 points through four events. She edged Chloe Kim during the qualifiers.

Arielle Gold is in third place, but her 1,400 points essentially put her in second due to Kim's age--she's not old enough to go to Sochi.
