Wrestling legend The Ultimate Warrior is set to receive the WWE's highest honor in 2014.

According to WWE on Twitter, it was announced on "Monday Night Raw" on Jan. 13 that The Ultimate Warrior will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 5 as part of the festivities surrounding WrestleMania XXX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

As expected, WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon had high praise for one of the most beloved figures to ever grace the ring, per WWE.com:

The Ultimate Warrior was the most intense, colorful, competitive and outspoken Superstar in sports-entertainment history, and his contributions to WWE were extraordinary. We are thrilled to induct The Ultimate Warrior into the WWE Hall of Fame.

While it's been nearly two decades since Ultimate Warrior brought wrestling fans to their feet with his unrivaled energy and passion, seasoned wrestling fans won't need to be reminded of his best moments and will be thrilled to welcome him into the Hall.

As ESPN's Todd Grisham points out, Ultimate Warrior's unique entrance is reason enough to celebrate him at WrestleMania XXX:

Some of Ultimate Warrior's highlights include his lightning-quick win over The Honky Tonk Man at SummerSlam in 1988 and his unforgettable victory over Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XI.

In addition to Hulk Hogan and Randy "Macho Man" Savage, Ultimate Warrior battled a plethora of other superstars on some of WWE's most epic stages. As a result, he was featured in the latest WWE 2K14 video game, which provides younger wrestling fans with an opportunity to experience Ultimate Warrior before he's honored this spring.

However, Ultimate Warrior isn't the only superstar who will be inducted in April. According to WWE.com, more "Class of 2014 inductees will be announced over the coming weeks."
