Last Sunday night, Grêmio left-back Alex Telles took one step closer to becoming a Galatasaray player. His agent, Fernando Otto, confirmed that the Turkish side were looking to send a guarantee letter in order to be able to finalize the deal for the member of the Brasileirão's ideal XI.
Galatasaray announced that the bank transfer finally came in on Monday afternoon and the team will be awaiting the player's possible arrival on Wednesday in Istanbul. This will allow one of Roberto Mancini's main targets to reinforce his club during the winter transfer market to arrive just in time for the resumption of the Turkish league at the end of this month when they face Gaziantepspor on January 26th.

The guarantee was sent via a European bank and assured Grêmio of the payment of €6 million that was being asked for by the Brazilian side in order to finalise the transaction. This was the final loophole in this entire negotiation that prevented it from falling through. The Brazilian side also stated that they will make an official announcement on Tuesday when all the documentation was completed on their end.

Telles arrived at Grêmio last year and slowly made his rise up the ranks until he finally became the undisputed left-back for the club, supplanting Fábio Aurelio and also replacing André Santos in that position.
Alex Telles played in 50 matches and scored a goal. Telles was instrumental in the Tricolor Gaúcho's second-place finish last season behind league champs Cruzeiro. His offensive ability down the left flank made him a vital part of Grêmio's attack.
Galatasaray currently find themselves in second place in the Turkish Süper Lig with 33 points, eight points behind leaders Fenerbahçe.
