The Friday night "nickname game" between the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets took a turn for the dramatic in the fourth quarter, when LeBron "King" James got into a scuffle following a foul from Mirza "MT3" Teletovic.
James was originally called for an offensive foul for pushing Andrei Kirilenko. Then, as he ran in for a layup, James was wrapped up by Teletovic. James clearly took offense, and a brief scuffle ensued.
According to Andy Vasquez of The Record, Teletovic's reaction to James' histrionics was one of amusement.
So, to recap, Mirza Teletovic laughed in LeBron James' face when LeBron was coming after him. The NBA, where amazing happens.— Andy Vasquez (@andy_vasquez) January 11, 2014
The reaction of Twitter came swiftly and strongly.
Couple things. 1. Michael Beasley holding LeBron back, the voice of reason. 2. AK flopped SO BAD 3. James overreacted.— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) January 11, 2014
Again, LeBron's been on edge all night. That looked like more of a final straw situation.— Ethan J. Skolnick (@EthanJSkolnick) January 11, 2014
You could see that coming. Haven't seen LeBron this hot in a Heat uniform.— Ethan J. Skolnick (@EthanJSkolnick) January 11, 2014
Teletovic was charged with a flagrant foul.
