Joe Johnson Headed to Philadelphia 76ers?

ATLANTA - MAY 11: LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers hugs Joe Johnson #2 of the Atlanta Hawks after the Cavaliers' 84-74 win in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2009 NBA Playoffs at Philips Arena on May 11, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. There is a report going around on some very credible Philadelphia 76ers sites saying the 76ers would be willing to trade both Thaddeus Young and Sammy Dalembert for an elite shooting guard.

While most fans would be excited to see Dalembert go, most would be very disappointed to find Young on another team.

The rumor is the elite guard would be Joe Johnson. The Atlanta Hawks have been interested in Dalembert in the past, and Johnson is in the last year of his contract. The rumor is a couple days ahead of making it out to the press, based on the pattern of the guy who broke the news has.

I would expect that General Manager Ed Stefanski would be able to work out a deal with Johnson before he goes through with the trade. With the addition of a new head coach in Eddie Jordan, and the possibility of Johnson joining the team, it would instantly make the 76ers a contender again by adding the missing scorer that they desperately need.

Here's the link to the story.
