Montreal Canadiens: Serge Savard Is Out of the Bid
Former player and former GM of the Montreal Canadiens Hall of Famer Serge Savard is changing his mind about buying the Habs.
Earlier today he stated that he's not prepared to go against the Molson family and their financial might. Savard knows the Molsons pretty well and has a lot of respect for them.
According to Savard having the Molson family bid on the team is good news.
"For me it's a logical choice," said Savard.
Pierre Karl Péladeau
Quebecor boss M. Péladeau criticized current Habs GM Bob Gainey yesterday while talking to a Quebec business group for hiring a new coach before a new owner was chosen.
In his remarks, Péladeau stated Gainey could have waited another two weeks so both parties can make a common decision for a new coach.
He stated that it was "curious" that the Molsons announce that they want to bid on the team and a week later Bob Gainey announces a new coach for the franchise.
Did Péladeau think that he was going to own the team? Worse part is, he doesn't even own the team and is already second guessing the GM. Nice going Karl!
