Yesterday, I wrote that AC Milan had sold Kaka to Real Madrid for $93 million (£56m), but it seems that Chelsea are trying to hijack that move.
Reports in England say that Chelsea have offered AC Milan and amazing £73.5m for Kaka. Chelsea’s £73.5 million bid is reported to be backed up by an offer of £10 million-a-year in wages after tax for Kaka in a bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
Former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was installed as the new Blues manager on Monday, and he could now be set to link up again with the talented playmaker.
Real Madrid’s new President Florentino Perez said he was bringing back the ‘Galacticos’ to Madrid. Can he afford not to get Kaka—and if not, how high will the bidding go?
Update:
Chelsea have stated on their web site they have not made a big for Kaka. With Kaka away on World Cup duty, this story could have several more twists in the next week.
