Tennessee's McRae and Arkansas' Portis Earn Weekly SEC Basketball Honors

Tennessee's Jordan McRae, a 6-foot-6, 185-pound senior guard from Midway, Ga., was named SEC Player of the Week after averaging 20 points, 3.5 assists and three rebounds in wins against Virginia and Tusculum. He had what head coach Cuonzo Martin called the best defensive game of his career in UT's convincing home win over Virginia, limiting the Cavs' top scorer to just seven points on 2-of-9 shooting. McRae made 3-of-4 tries from 3-point range and was also a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. He tied his career-high with five assists while committing zero turnovers.
