Some of the drivers outside the NASCAR scope have also taken time to race at Eldora, namely NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car drivers Ron Capps and Cruz Pedregon. These two are used to driving straight, but may surprise a few people when they get on the dirt.
The race will be broadcast on both on pay-per-view and on HBO starting at 7 p.m. EST
If you are a fan of dirt track action, this is a race that cannot be missed.
*UPDATE* Due to persistent rain at the Eldora Speedway, track officials have made the decision to postpone the Prelude to the Dream charity dirt late-model race.
"We worked really hard to make sure that everything was right for the drivers, fans and viewers on HBO Pay-Per-View, but the weather was the one element we couldn't control," said Tony Stewart, owner of Eldora Speedway.
The race has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 9. Decisions regarding the broadcasting of the event will be made at a later date.
*UPDATE #2* The Prelude to the Dream late model race will be shown on pay-per-view.
Track owner and current Sprint Cup points leader Tony Stewart announced Friday that HBO pay-per-view will broadcast the race.
Stewart also announced that Gillette has come on board to donate money for the event and that all the Gillette "Young Gun" drivers will participate in the race.
The Prelude to the Dream was originally to be run on June 3, however heavy rain caused the event to be postponed.
