The transfer window is in full swing and that means rumors, rumors and even more rumors. One player that will definitely see his name tossed around all month will be none other than Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas.
The World Cup hero is yet to win back his starting role from Diego Lopez and several clubs have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old for a while now.
In week's rumors tracker we will keep up with the latest and breaking rumors regarding the transfer window and Iker Casillas. Be sure to check back regularly!
In a recent announcement on the club's official website (h/t ESPN's Dermot Corrigan), Carlo Ancelotti stated that the transfer window would be closed for his and that no players would be coming or going this month:
The case of Casillas is very clear: he will play in the Champions League and also in the Copa del Rey. There is nothing new in that field. No players are going to leave, and we are not going to sign anybody. For us, the market is closed.
It seems as though the manager has already made his mind up. He has apparently given Casillas a role for the rest of the season and claims the captain is going nowhere. Case closed, right? We'll see.
Furthermore, a new report from CaughtOffside.com's Bernard Thompson claims that Manchester City have attempted to make a real move for Casillas by offering him a lucrative deal to join them.
While neither of these rumors or links seem to hold much water at this point, it is clear that Casillas will be seeing his name in the papers all month.
