Ramon Martinez broke his pinkie while sliding into home, scoring the only Mets' run of the game.

Martinez will more then likely be added to the disabled list.  The Mets can either play shorthanded until Friday when Reyes comes off the DL, or bring someone up.

The Mets are clearly struggling offensively with all the injuries and I wouldn't play one man down.

Javier Valentin is a right handed bat, who is hitting .333 in AAA.  He's primarily a catcher, but is playing first base and third base in Buffalo. He also has some emergency experience in left field.
I would bring up Valentin for the offense and then send Valdez down when Reyes comes off the DL.  Despite being a slick glove Valdez isn't necessary with Cora back.
