With the news of Frank Thomas being mutually let go by the Toronto Blue Jays, brings up the question: What's next?
We all know if Frank hung up the cleats now he would don a White Sox cap and be a first ballot Hall of Famer. But what needs to be examined first is which MLB team needs a designated hitter?
We can eliminate the need of a DH for either Sox with Jim Thome and David Ortiz.
The Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers also seem content with their current DH's with Travis Hafner and Gary Sheffield, respectively.
In my mind there are three teams that should be giving the Big Hurt a call—the Twins, Yankees, and Royals better start dialing.
The Twins would benefit the most by adding Frank. He would give them a true offensive threat and help create some help for Mauer and the young Twins hitters—including Delmon Young.
Another American League Central team that could possibly use a solid DH is the Kansas City Royals. The Royals were off to a hot start and the fear of falling off is one reason they could use the star power along with the experience of Frank. The Royals are a non-superstar team and you would be hard pressed to find anyone that could say they knew the Royals would be fighting for the top spot in the AL Central.
Last but not least, and with their money they can never be overlooked, is the New York Yankees.
The Yankees have used a platoon at the DH consisting of Jorge Posada and Jason Giambi. By adding Frank to the mix and to the lineup the Yankees would have the looks of a great lineup. I would love to be Joe Girardi and have to write down a line up of Damon, Jeter, Abreu, A-Rod, Thomas, Cano, Giambi, Cabrera, Posada. This would make the Yankees an even tougher team to beat and I can just imagine the look on the Blue Jays face when Frank shows up in August and September on the First Place Yankees.
No matter where he ends up he will continue to put a Big Hurt on American League pitchers and looks to add to his already HOF numbers.

You can also put Matsui in the mix for the Yankees DH, with really Giambi playing most of his games at 1B. Personally, I would love to see the Big Hurt in KC. I think that is exactly what the royals need, but it would not work out because Billy Butler is the DH there, and Thomas would just be taking ABs from him. You could throw either of them at 1B, but for one, it would give Trey Hillman a heart attack, and two, Ross Gload has been playing really good so far.

WOW Kyle you mut not know too much about the Big hurt. Lets see take a look at everyguy that was supposedly doing steroids and they were all little guys to begin with Sosa, Bonds then they got big. Frank has been a big guy his whole life he went to Auburn on a Football scholorship as a tight end. So you cant even say he did steroids he is just a naturally big guy
