Apparently a 17.79 ERA over 17.1 innings isn’t good. Jorge Julio has been released and Mike Burns has taken his place on the 25-man roster.

Burns, a 30-year-old righty, posted a 6-2 record and 2.98 ERA over 63.1 innings. He has a career 5.88 ERA in 52 frames of Major League service for the Astros, Cubs, Reds and Red Sox.

UPDATE: Devin Sawa look-alike Chris Cody, a LHP with a 2.30 ERA in 58.2 innings this season in Huntsville, has been promoted to Nashville to take Burns’ spot in the rotation. Cody has quickly worked his way up the minor league ladder since being traded to Milwaukee for Jose Capellan midway through the 2007 season.
