Kansas City's Attempt to Dye Frozen Fountain to Support Chiefs Fails

Tyler Brooke@TylerDBrookeSenior Analyst IIJanuary 3, 2014

In an effort to support the Kansas City Chiefs as they prepare to play the Indianapolis Colts, the city of Kansas City attempted to dye one of its fountains red.

It didn't turn out well.

Thanks to a winter storm that froze the fountain and gave the city plenty of snow, the experiment ended poorly.  You can see the entire Facebook photo album here courtesy of the Kansas City Parks and Recreation department, with the album description including the phrase, "This is the first time we've attempted to dye a frozen fountain."

No one is surprised.

Hat-tip to Deadspin for the find.
