With the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans hiring new head coaches—Mike Zimmer, Jim Caldwell, Lovie Smith, Jay Gruden, Bill O'Brien and Ken Whisenhunt respectively—there is now only one head coaching vacancy in the NFL

Who will take over the Cleveland Browns after Rob Chudzinski was canned after one season?

Let's run through the NFL head coach openings and track which candidates will or already have interviewed for each job.

Cleveland Browns

With top-end players like wideout Josh Gordon, offensive tackle Joe Thomas, tight end Jordan Cameron, center Alex Mack, cornerback Joe Haden, safety T.J. Ward, nose tackle Phil Taylor and edge-rushers Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard, the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns will be inheriting a wealth of talent on both sides of the football.

However, the surprise firing of Rob Chudzinski after less than one calendar year on the job may strike initial fear into some. In fact, as Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reports, there are conflicting reports that Chudzinski may or may not have spoken to potential candidates, painting a not-so-rosy picture of life under the current regime in Cleveland.

The Minnesota Vikings are another team a year removed from a surprise playoff run, and although they managed to select three first-round picks in the 2013 draft, the ineffectiveness at the quarterback position led to a disappointing year.

Adrian Peterson is still one of the best running backs in football, but with more than 2,000 career carries, he likely doesn't have a handful of ultra-productive years left in his NFL career.

The defense was a mess but the receiving talent is encouraging, especially with the late-season emergence of dynamic rookie Cordarrelle Patterson.

With a competent quarterback, the Vikings could bounce back in 2014.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have the finest wideout in the game in Calvin Johnson, a dynamic running back in Reggie Bush and an extremely talented yet wildly inconsistent quarterback in Matthew Stafford

    And that's just on offense.

On defense, Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley highlight, arguably, the best defensive tackle duo in the NFC and DeAndre Levy and Stephen Tulloch are two established linebackers at the second level.

Some holes in the secondary and playing in the highly competitive NFC North are the slight negatives about this job, but the talent level makes it very enticing.

The Tennessee Titans mired in mediocrity under Mike Munchak from 2011 to 2013, going a combined 22-26 in his three seasons as head coach.

Quarterback Jake Locker, the team's 2011 first-round pick, exhibited improved play this year, but his NFL career has been marred by nagging and serious injuries.

Tennessee went on a spending spree in free agency in 2013 and has a wealth of talented young players such as defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, defensive end Derrick Morgan, guard Chance Warmack and wide receivers Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter.

Andrew Luck will be standing in the way of winning the AFC South for many years, but the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are at the early stages of their own respective rebuilding processes.

Washington Redskins

One year removed from an NFC East title and an Offensive Rookie of the Year award for tremendously talented rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III, the Washington Redskins are in an organizational mess.

The NFC East is the weakest it's been in years, but the trade to acquire RG3 has led to a lack of depth and the offensive weapons needed to aid RG3's development.

Owner Daniel Snyder certainly isn't afraid to spend money, however, he has a track record of spending too much money for the wrong players.

The defense needs major work as does the wide receiver position.
