Do you want to know what was missing, in the most big-picture way, around the Nationals in 2013? Complacency. They disappointed this season, but within those setbacks Washington took another step, maybe one of the last steps, to becoming a baseball town. Enough time has passed and the city has seen enough success. Nationals Park no longer houses a just-happy-to-be-here vibe. Washington baseball fans have a team, thank goodness.
