Fantasy Baseball Quick Notes for June 2

American League News 

MLB.com is reporting that Grady Sizemore may need surgery to fix his inflamed elbow.  If this is true, and he does in fact need surgery, expect Sizemore to be out for three to six weeks.

Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI Monday night.

Jeremy Sowers allowed one run on three hits over five innings against the Yankees on Monday night.

Joba Chamberlain pitched eight innings allowing four hits, striking out five, walking two, and allowing two runs.

Jarrod Washburn allowed one run over seven innings, but lost 1-0 on sac fly.

Rich Hill threw seven innings of shutout ball to beat the Mariners 1-0. 

John Smoltz is hoping to join the Red Sox on or about June 16.

 

National League News

He's backkkkkkk. Anibal Sanchez, recovering from a shoulder injury, will be activated from the DL on Today.

Another Met bites the dust. Angel Pagan was placed on the 15-day DL with a groin injury.

Edinson Volquez had to leave Monday's game with numbness in his hand.

Andy LaRoche, a nice surprise this season, went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI.

Hanley Ramirez, batting .337, went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
 
Carlos Lee, batting .319 with nine homers and 31 RBI, went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
 
The hand must be better for Roy Oswalt who threw seven innings of one-run ball.

Colby Rasmus went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double.

Brad Lidge collected his 13th save with a scoreless ninth.

Chad Qualls was held out of Monday's save opportunity due to forearm soreness.

Billy Buckner shut out the Dodgers over six innings for the win.

Miguel Tejada (yes, the same Miggy that struggled last season) is now leading the National League in hitting.
