In a matchup featuring two of the most offensively gifted power forwards in the NBA, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks traveled to Minnesota Monday night to battle Kevin Love and the Timberwolves.
Love provided 36 points—leading all scorers—and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough. Shawn Marion paced the Mavericks with 32 points of his own, going 14-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-6 from downtown.
Marion and Love were also involved in the game's final play, as Love was hit on the arm by Marion while attempting to tie the score. No foul was called and the Mavericks escaped with a narrow 100-98 victory.
