Can’t-Miss Match of the Night: Austin Aries vs. Chris Sabin

When X Division champion Austin Aries squares off against Chris Sabin in a Steel Cage Xscape Match Sunday night, wresting fans will be exposed to one of the best technical showcases imaginable.

As two of the best in-ring workers in the business today, Aries and Sabin should be able to put on a five-star match if the duo is given enough time on the PPV to tell a memorable story.

The two men have wrestled many times in the past, but the rivalry has really heated up over the last several weeks since Aries was infused into the X Division title scene and won the belt on Dec. 12.

Add in the possible involvement of Velvet Sky into this angle, and the backstory has fans interested in this matchup.

The stipulation of a Steel Cage Xscape Match has many fans excited about what impact this will have on the outcome, but the rules state this is simply a standard cage match with the winner being the first man that escapes over the top and hits the floor with both feet.

Not only will this bout feature the technical wizardry of both elite athletes, but the high-flying action could make this one of the best matches of the year. Aries and Sabin are known for their high-risk moves, and there is a distinct possibility that one of these men will jump from the top of the cage with an offensive move.

Maybe even a 450 Splash from Aries. We can only hope.

Unless TNA has a plan to give the upper hand to Sabin in the long-term booking of this storyline—which would be hard to believe since he just lost the title—Aries should be able to pull out a huge win in this match.

The X Division champion will steal the show once again.

Predicted Winner: Austin Aries
