Kevin Pietersen was the subject of a huge outcry on Twitter after his dismissal for England in the fourth Test against Australia in Melbourne.
Pietersen played patiently for 64 on Day 1, but played a series of wild shots on the second morning before being bowled by Mitchell Johnson for 71 after a crazy slog across the line.
England were seven wickets down at the time of his dismissal, with Test centurion Stuart Broad at the other end.
Here's some of the reaction:
Pietersen. Probably the worst shot by a specialist batsman in the history of test cricket. Pathetic brainless slog. Totally moronic #ashes— The Full Toss (@thefulltoss) December 26, 2013
So you block for 4 hours on day one and then have a huge slog at the start of day two? What a splendid game plan.— John Etheridge (@JohnSunCricket) December 26, 2013
I'd love to know what the instructions from Cook and Flower were to KP this morning. "Have a heave mate" probably wasn't it— Dean Wilson (@CricketMirror) December 26, 2013
That's just a horrible slog….— Paul Newman (@newman_cricket) December 26, 2013
What does Alastair Cook say to Pietersen when he walks back in dressing room? Imagine what Allan Border would've said in circumstances..— Gerard Middleton (@GMiddletonFOX) December 26, 2013
