Breaking Down Steve Smith's Knee Injury

Will Carroll@injuryexpertSports Injuries Lead WriterDecember 26, 2013

Knee sprains are always worrisome, but the Carolina Panthers got the best possible news on the injury that took wide receiver Steve Smith out of Sunday's game.

The sprain is minor, but is Smith really going to be back for Week 17? Should the Panthers risk him if he is available?

B/R's Sports Medicine Lead Writer Will Carroll explains why this sprain isn't as bad as it could have been and what to expect from Steve Smith through the playoffs. A team like Carolina needs a lucky break like this if it's going to get to MetLife Stadium in February.
