'Tis the season for marquee NBA teams to throw down on national TV. Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Lakers came into their Christmas Day matchup against the Miami Heat without the services of Kobe Bryant, their best player, who is out with a knee injury.
But it's also the season for togetherness, so Kobe got into the Christmas spirit with Heat star LeBron James.
Was this a hollow moment for the cameras, or is LeBron really wishing his Western Conference foe all the best?
Considering their history (including playing together on the United States Olympic team), probably the latter.
It should be noted that LeBron was one of the first NBA athletes to take to Twitter and wish Kobe a speedy recovery when his injury was announced on December 19:
Both James and Bryant belong to an exclusive club: active NBA legends. Although they are fearsome competitors on the court, they seem to have genuine respect for each other.
After the 101-95 Heat win, Kobe took the court and hugged it out with Dwyane Wade.
Did they swap Shaq stories?
