Final Score: Boise State 23, Oregon State 38
Boise State fell to Oregon State in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve 38-23. The Broncos finish the season 8-5 overall and the Beavers end the year 7-6.
Both teams endured somewhat disappointing regular seasons, but a win in Honolulu would be a nice way for either squad to finish out the year.
The Beavers started the 2013 season winning six of seven, but they faltered down the stretch by losing five straight. Boise State lost its opportunity to play for the Mountain West title after losing for the second year in a row to San Diego State. It was one of four road losses the Broncos had this season.
In this game, it was the story of the turnover. Boise State handed two fumbles to the Beavers in the first half. Both of those fumbles were returned for a score.
After spotting the Beavers 14 points, it was just too big of a margin to overcome.
The Broncos now look to next season, as the new head coach of the Broncos, Bryan Harsin, will begin work to bring this team back to an elite level.
It won't be easy, but Harsin seems like the right man for the job.
For the Beavers, this win helps their program after a disappointing second-half of the season. Going into 2014, they will have enough of a team coming back to be taken serious in the Pac-12.
