Donte Whitner Gets Called for Questionable Personal Foul Against Falcons

The San Francisco 49ers' Donte Whitner was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. 

Let's just say the call was questionable.

Donte Whitner said that he was not fined by the league for this hit, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Eric Branch.

Larry Biel of ABC 7 didn't agree with the flag:

The Boston Globe's Zuri Berry was one of many who didn't like the call:

So now it's unsportsmanlike conduct on Donte Whitner. That is just stupid. Another bad call in a bad week for the officials.

The penalty came on second down from the San Francisco 7-yard line.

Falcons running back Steven Jackson, who was hit on the play Whitner was flagged on, scored on the next play to give Atlanta a 7-3 lead in the second quarter.
