When the Detroit Lions fell to the New York Giants, 23-20, in overtime Sunday, they were officially eliminated from playoff contention. Well, that led to some awkward moments Monday, when Lions fans received playoff tickets in the mail.

A few weeks ago, the Lions controlled the NFC North at 6-3. Losing five out of their next six games knocked Detroit out of the playoff race, but playoff tickets had already been sent out.

Take a look at what went on at Ford Field after the team's latest loss, via the Associated Press' Larry Lage:

It was a tough loss to swallow for Lions fans, as both the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears lost as well.
