Manning completed 32-of-51 passes for 400 yards with four touchdowns Sunday in a rout of the Texans. He broke Tom Brady’s single-season record for touchdown passes in the fourth quarter on a 25-yard connection with Julius Thomas.
It was fitting the performance he gave to break a record which previously belonged to him was a picture of his mastery of ball distribution. Manning connected with seven different receivers on the day, tossing touchdowns to Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas and the aforementioned Julius Thomas. Manning’s season has been one of the greatest seasons from a quarterback, as he is now the only player in NFL history with more than 5,000 yards passing and 50 touchdowns.
