Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1999 World Cup

It was a fine Monday morning when Pakistan and Bangladesh met each other at Northampton for a cricket match. The result was predictable, which was that Pakistan would win easily. But Bangladesh were not to be underestimated.

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat. The top order provided a good start but the middle order collapsed. But finally the lower order took the minnows to a total of 223/9 after 50 overs.

The Pakistani openers came to the field looking confident but unfortunately lost their wickets quickly. Khaled Mahmud pierced through the top order and Pakistan were 29/4. the middle and lower order did chip in but couldn't help much. The Pakis were all out for 161 and the Bangladeshis were celebrating.

Bangladesh vs India

It was a fine Sunday evening when the Indian players came out to field against the cricket minnows Bangladesh. After a narrow escape in the first ODI the Indians were looking for a comfortable win in the second ODI of the three match series.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat. Thje Indian bowling attack was very indisciplined and weak. The minnows posted a total of 229/9 in 50 overs.

The Indians were off a shake start but then were revived by the good innings of Srdharan Sriram and Mohammad Kaif. But after both of them lost their wickets the last recognized batting pair was of M.S Dhoni and Dinesh Mongia.

Both of them fell cheaply and India were struggling at 155/6. The rest was up to the tailenders. Joginder Sharma provided some hope with a quick 29 of just 22 balls but the rest of the tailenders fell cheaply and India lost by 15 runs.

Australia vs South Africa

With both the Aussies and the Proteas tied at 2-2 in the five match ODI series everyone was looking forward to the fifth match.

The Aussies won the toss and chose to bat. They were off a flying start with Adam Gilchrist getting a quick fifty and Mathew Hayden scoring a 79 of 90 balls. But the amazing moment came when Ricky Ponting smashed a brilliant 164 of just 105 balls and Micheal Hussey assisting him with a quick 81 of just 51 balls. The Aussies posted a gigantic total of 434/4 in 50 overs. All the hopes of the Proteas were shattered.

But the Proteas were not the sort which would give up easily. They were off a shake start with Dippenaar falling cheaply but then Graeme Smith scored a brilliant 90 of just 55 balls and Herschell Gibbs played a magnificent innings off 175 of just 111 balls.

The Aussie hopes were just sinking when Gibbs' wicket fell and wickets tumbled at regular intervals their on. But a brilliant fifty by Mark Boucher and a fast chipping innings by tailenders van der Wath and Telemachus took the Proteas through and the beat the Aussies by one wicket with just one ball remaining.

Australia vs Bangladesh

The top team were playing against the minnows who had defeated India recently. Yes you are right it was Australia vs Bangladesh. The predictions were that Australia would win easily.

The Aussies won the toss and chose to bat. The Bangladesh bowling attack was good and the fielding was tight. The public couldn't believe that the minnows were playing so well. They restricted the Aussies to 249/5 in 50 overs.

The minnows were ready to bat and the Aussies were ready to bowl. But who knew that the minnows were on a roll. They were off a shake start with both the openers falling cheaply.

But then came in the star batsman Mohammad Ashraful. He made a magnificent hundred to guide Bangladesh to a win. He was assisted by his fellows who chipped in and Bangladesh reached 250 in 49.2 overs.

Ireland vs Pakistan 2007 World Cup

The Pakis and the Irishmen were playing in the World Cup. The Pakis were confident that hey would win easily and who thought that the Irishmen playing their first World Cup had the potential to defeat the Pakis. But nobody can predict the exact future.

The Irish captain won the toss and elected to field. The Pakis who were playing carelessly lost all their wickets quickly and were all out on 132.

The Irishmen on the other hand made a shaky start but finally revived with O'Brien scoring a good 72. But after his wicket fell the rest of the wickets also started to tumble quickly. But his brother then held the innings together and guided Ireland to a three wicket win.

Australia vs Zimbabwe T20 World Cup

The Aussies were all ready to face the minnows Zimbabwe in the group stage tie of the T20 World Cup. Predictions as usual were favouring the Aussies. But another miracle was just round the corner.

The Aussies won the toss and chose to bat. The started losing wickets at very quick intervals and could only manage a total of 138 in 20 overs.

The minnows made a steady start with BRM Taylor scoring a 60 of just 45 balls which guided the minnows to 139 in 19.5 overs.
These were some of the most shocking defeats in cricket. Wait for more in the future.
