Out of contract in the summer, John Heitinga will fetch a fair amount of rumours this January.

West Ham are the latest club to be linked, according to The Daily Mirror's John Cross.

Cross claims Fiorentina, Real Betis and Napoli are interested in the Dutchman, but insists he would prefer to stay in England.

The Daily Mail's Neil Ashton claims Everton are one of the many teams keeping tabs on Wycombe Wanderers' Kortney Hause.

Ashton reveals the Toffees have watched the young central defender a number of times as he continues to impress in League Two.

The 18-year-old is already a first team regular and is valued at around £500,000.

Everton to Wait for Barry

Everton want to sign Gareth Barry but are willing to wait until the end of the season before offering him a contract, according to The Mirror's David Maddock.

The England midfielder has been inspirational while on loan at the Toffees and Maddock uses quotes from Roberto Martinez, including:

Gareth has been vitally important in what we have achieved so far this season and I would like that to be the case for many, many years to come.

But that is a conversation we are going to have in the summer.

Out of contract in June, this obviously risks other clubs coming in for him and offering more money, which will worry Evertonians.

His contribution this season has made securing his future an essential piece of business.

Barkley Not Going Anywhere

    Tuesday, December 24

Roberto Martinez has revealed his club's firm stance on Ross Barkley's future, providing Everton fans with some extra Christmas cheer.

As The Guardian's Andy Hunter reports, Everton would not accept a world record bid for the youngster this January.

    Martinez is quoted as saying:

It is not the right time for the player or the club to consider anything. Even if we got a Gareth Bale-size valuation we would never even consider it in January.

With such strong remarks it would be surprising to see Barkley moving anywhere in the immediate future.

John Heitinga appears poised to leave Everton and, as Sky Sports' Simone Bargellini reports, he has suitors lining up in Italy.

Bargellini uses quotes from Heitinga that appeared in La Gazzatta dello Sport, including:

Roma? I heard a lot about their interest. I think we should know something more concrete next week. I'm waiting too.

There are a few Serie A teams interested in me. I'm waiting for official news from my agents.

Roma are one of the best teams there are in Italy; if the interest is serious, we'll talk for sure within the next few days."

The Dutch international is yet to play a minute of Premier League football under Roberto Martinez and will surely depart in January.

The Daily Mail's Simon Jones adds more to the Nikica Jelavic-to-West Ham rumours, once again highlighting the Hammers' interest.

However, as expected, Jones reports that any deal depends on Everton managing to recruit a replacement first.

His departure would leave Romelu Lukaku as the only senior striker at Goodison Park, which won't be a scenario Martinez will accept.

Dundee United's Andrew Robertson and John Souttar have both been mentioned in previous Transfer Trackers and are once again linked to Everton by the Mirror's Alan Nixon.

Nixon believes Roberto Martinez will make a trip to see the pair in action, travelling to see their match against Hibernian.

Both players are defenders and Nixon touts Robertson as a potential long-term replacement for Leighton Baines at left-back.

Curtis Davies a Target?

    Monday, December 23

The Hull Daily Mail cite a story from The Sunday People in which Everton are linked with Hull City's Curtis Davies.

The central defender has been in impressive form this season and is perhaps being considered as an eventual replacement for the 36-year-old Sylvain Distin.

A lofty asking price will almost certainly prevent this happening in January, however.
