The AFC

Kansas City will be the conference's No. 5 seed, no matter what happens in Week 17. Miami owned the No. 6 seed coming in, but a loss officially knocked it out the playoffs. The Ravens met a similar fate following a loss in Week 17 to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Meanwhile, the San Diego Chargers were playing for their playoff lives against the Kansas City Chiefs and clinched the No. 6 seed after an overtime win. A loss would have put the Steelers into the playoffs at 8-8.

The NFC

A number of NFC playoff spots remained unsettled heading into Week 17. Seattle clinched the NFC West, but San Francisco still got into the playoffs with a Wild Card berth.

Cam Newton and Carolina clinched the title with a Week 17 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Green Bay downed Chicago in Week 17, earning it the NFC North crown. The final edition of Sunday Night Football between the Cowboys and Eagles will determine the NFC East champion.

Below is a look at the teams that have already clinched spots in the playoffs, along with an overview of the standings as the regular season enters its stretch run.

The following teams have clinched 2013 playoff spots: Denver Broncos (AFC West champions), Kansas City Chiefs (AFC Wild Card), Indianapolis Colts (AFC South champions), New England Patriots (AFC East champions), Cincinnati Bengals (AFC North Champions), San Diego Chargers (AFC Wild Card), Seattle Seahawks (NFC West champions), Carolina Panthers (NFC South champions), Green Bay Packers (NFC North Champions), San Francisco 49ers (NFC Wild Card), New Orleans Saints (NFC Wild Card).
